Flower Power

There’s nothing like getting flowers. Some think it’s overrated, overpriced, or too temporary, but I think flowers can go a long way to make someone happy. More than anything, it’s a way to show someone that you were thinking of them; how can that not make people feel loved and appreciated, at least to a degree? My roommate works at a flower shop and it’s always so fun to hear her stories about the lavish flower arrangements people will buy. Not to mention, we always have beautiful flowers in our room thanks to her! I think flowers are such a beautiful work of art that nature has created and I thought I’d share some of their specific meanings. So if you want to give a person a special flower for a special reason, here is a little more about what these flowers represent.
1. Carnation (in general) Bonds of affection; health and energy; fascination; woman love (There are multiple meanings though with each color of carnation so be careful which one you buy!)
2. Daffodil - Respect
3. Daisy - Innocence
4. Forget-me-not - True love; memories
5. Gardenia - You're lovely; secret love
6. Hyacinth (general) - Games and sports; rashness; flower dedicated to Apollo
